DHL STARTS COOPERATION WITH DL INVEST GROUP TO JOINTLY DEVELOP THE DL INVEST PARK PSARY LOGISTICS CENTRE
Press Release: Warsaw, 13 July 2020

DHL Supply Chain Polska and DL Invest Group signed a cooperation agreement to jointly develop the DL Invest Park Psary logistics centre. Situated next to the national road DK-86 in Psary, the companies plan to erect technologically advanced warehouse buildings that will offer a total area in excess of 200,000 square meters to the market.
Sections dedicated to particular tenants will be designed individually and finished to optimise logistic processes and to maximise their effectiveness. The buildings will be equipped with green, environmentally-friendly solutions in accordance with DHL’s GoGreen policy. The project will be implemented in the centre of the area, with separated access to the main roads of the Silesia region running to Southern and Western Europe. In addition, the location also provides access to skilled personnel in the region and direct access to public transport.
The partners decided that their cooperation will be based on a combination of global logistic competences of DHL and the expertise of DL Invest Group in the area of development of building projects. The plot (over 40 hectares) will host a complementary logistics campus, offering professional logistic services and supply chain optimisation in A-class green buildings that meet specific needs of particular tenants.
DHL also reconfirmed its plan to have zero emissions from its logistics operations by 2050.
‘We believe that this new project will significantly help us achieve that ambitious goal as it will have all the eco solutions implemented by DHL,’ says Wirginia Leszczyńska, COO of DL Invest Group. ‘It was one of the key factors for us in the process to select our partner as we are determined to follow the path of sustained growth. Both technological processes and materials used so far for implementation of the investment project in DL Invest Park Psary meet the highest standards of ecological safety. For us, it is of key importance to keep reducing operating costs of our sites as far as possible by deploying advanced and energy-saving solutions. Thermally insulated walls, a rainwater recovery and grey water recycling system, an eco heating system – these are only a few of the solutions we use as our standard. We discerned that DHL’s declaration to reduce pollution emission levels is just reliable – it is confirmed by already completed projects that use renewable energy, energy-saving lights, purpose-designed rooftops, waste recycling and eco parcel packaging systems.
In the project, DHL will be the investor and, in addition, it will be responsible for the logistic part of the venture. DL Invest Group will be the Managing Partner, responsible for general contracting and management of the implementation process.
‘Our goal is to create, for our target clients, comprehensive supply-chain solutions that ensure optimised costs and the outstanding quality by using innovative solutions in warehousing,’ says Andries Retief, CEO of DHL Supply Chain for CEE region. ‘By combining our global experience in logistics and the expertise in property development of DL Invest Group, we will be able to offer premium and modern solutions to our clients – these solutions will combine advanced, tailor-made space with dedicated logistic services.’
A completely innovative concept will be implemented in DL Invest Park Psary. It is an amalgamation of a production, warehousing and distribution centre with innovative logistic services. The project will be carried out with utmost respect to the environment.
The site now hosts two fully-leased buildings (about 31,000 m2). Another building (about 24,000 m2) will become operational in September 2020 and the next stage of the project (14,000 m2) will be ready in the fourth quarter of 2020. Subsequent phases should add another 130,000 m2 of advanced warehousing space. The parties assume that target space can be delivered to clients in 8-10 months after a lease contract is signed.
The legal services for the project are provided by DLA Piper.
