DHL SUPPLY CHAIN SUPPORTS YOUNG VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS OF MOS WOLA WARSAW CLUB
Press Release: Warsaw, 17 November 2020

DHL Supply Chain in Poland supports MOS Wola Warsaw. The athletic club from Warsaw has been fostering children and the youth in the spirit of fair play for over 50 years. This is where Poland’s representatives, European and world champions and multiple medallists – Izabela Szczypiórkowska, Jolanta Kosmol-Studzienna, Zbigniew Bartman, Fabian Drzyzga, Grzegorz Łomacz and Damian Wojtaszek – took their first steps in volleyball. Arkadiusz Gołaś, whose career was interrupted by a tragic accident in 2005, was also a graduate of MOS Wola Warsaw. Commitment to social activities, promotion of team work and support for sport – especially with respect to children and the youth – are one of the keystones of CSR strategy applied by DHL Supply Chain.
Sports fans observing matches of the volleyball centre, which was established in 1965, may have spotted the logo of DHL world leader in contract logistics, appearing on the T-shirts of young players for some time. Values such as respect, tolerance, team work, persistence and healthy sports rivalry constitute the foundation of the cooperation between the logistics operator and the club, which fosters over 500 young people – girls and boys from primary schools as well as junior players. It is hard to imagine that the club located at ul. Rogalińska would bring up so many champions or each year fill the best volleyball teams competing in PlusLiga with its members without these values.

“The club is honoured to have been selected by DHL to receive support. We are glad that companies still keep in mind children and the youth, particularly in the demanding conditions of the pandemic faced by the whole world. We are certain that sport helps shape character, teaches to be self-reliant, work systematically, and work as part of a team. Each day we endeavour to work with our mentees to make them believe in themselves and that they can make anything possible. To encourage them to always keep trying. Each form of support for our club is much needed and appreciated, especially from a company which understands how significant sport is for upbringing,” say Krzysztof Felczak, Vice-President of Interschool Sports Club at MOS Wola Warsaw, and Radosław Krukowski, Member of the Board of Interschool Sports Centre and coach of young female players.
Offering support to young volleyball players from Warsaw is not the only activity carried out by DHL Supply Chain in connection to promoting sport. Last year, the company became the partner for Diamonds Academy Soccer School – its players battle the stereotype of football not being a suitable sport for girls during every training and match.
Social responsibility remains part and parcel of corporate culture at DPDHL Group. The company participates in projects dedicated to environmental protection, delivering aid, promoting education and supporting employees’ charity work globally. Promotion of sport and healthy lifestyle has for years constituted a pillar of the activities related to social responsibility of DHL Supply Chain in Poland.
