Press Release: Warsaw,  25 March 2026 r

Poland remains one of the key markets for DHL Supply Chain in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region, playing a crucial role in the development of modern contract logistics and in supporting global supply chains. Strengthening local leadership is another step in the company’s long-term strategy for growth in the CEE region. In this context, DHL Supply Chain announces that Bernard Wierzbik has been appointed Managing Director of DHL Supply Chain Poland, bringing extensive managerial experience and a clear vision for further developing the business in Poland.

Bernard Wierzbik succeeds Petra Káňa, who has taken on the role of Managing Director of DHL Supply Chain in the Czech Republic. DHL Supply Chain extends its sincere thanks to Petra Káňa for his contribution to the development of the organization in Poland and for his commitment to strengthening the company’s market position.

The new Managing Director brings many years of experience gained in international organizations, with a strong track record in operational excellence, business development, and delivering high levels of customer satisfaction. Most recently, he served as Managing Director at Greiner Packaging in Poland. Previously, as Operations Director for Poland and Hungary at Lantmännen Unibake, he was responsible for optimizing processes and strengthening regional performance. Earlier in his career, he held the position of Customer Service & Logistics Director for Central Europe at PepsiCo, overseeing operations across seven countries: Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. Bernard Wierzbik emphasizes the strategic importance of contract logistics as a key component of the modern economy.

Poland is today one of the most important logistics markets in Europe and a key hub for the entire CEE region. Our ambition is to further strengthen this position by developing modern, integrated, and resilient supply chains – says Bernard Wierzbik. – Logistics is no longer just an operational function – it is about designing ecosystems that directly impact our customers’ competitiveness. DHL Supply Chain focuses on supporting customers across key industries, including e-commerce, retail, FMCG, technology, automotive, and life sciences. A growing emphasis is also placed on investments in automation, digitalization, and solutions driven by data and artificial intelligence.

In the coming years, the key will be combining technology with operational expertise. Artificial intelligence, automation, and advanced analytics enable not only greater efficiency, but also improved demand forecasting and risk management within supply chains – he adds. Building operational resilience in the face of global challenges remains another critical priority.
Today’s supply chains must be prepared for volatility – whether geopolitical, economic, or operational. Our role is to provide our customers with stability and predictability, even in the most demanding environment – Bernard Wierzbik stresses. He also highlights that one of the key reasons for joining DHL Supply Chain is the exceptional people who make up the organization. The strength of DHL Supply Chain lies in its teams – highly committed professionals who bring deep expertise and a strong customer focus to everything they do. I am truly excited to become part of this great team and to work together in shaping the future of our business in Poland,” says Bernard Wierzbik.
