DHL Express and SHEIN Sign GoGreen Plus Agreement to Advance More Sustainable Logistics in Cross-Border E-Commerce

Press Release: SHANGHAI, March 24th, 2026

DHL Express, a business unit of DHL Group, and SHEIN, a global online fashion and lifestyle retailer, today signed a GoGreen Plus agreement at the DHL Group's NOW & NEXT logistics summit in Shanghai. Under the agreement, SHEIN will utilize sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) provided by DHL Express for its international express air freight shipments, aiming to reduce carbon emissions on intercontinental transport routes.

DHL Express has long served as one of SHEIN's core carriers in its global logistics network, and the two companies have maintained a strong, strategic partnership over the years. In recent years, the collaboration has evolved significantly, expanding from global capacity support to coordinated regional market initiatives.

In the air logistics sector, the two parties will collaborate on applications for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), exploring practical pathways for its use in cross-border e-commerce air transport. The agreement further expands cooperation between DHL and SHEIN in aviation logistics, contributing to broader industry exploration of related solutions. This signing fully underscores DHL's long-standing commitment to empowering global logistics for businesses through green solutions and advancing sustainable development.

“Signing the GoGreen Plus agreement with SHEIN marks another important milestone in DHL Express' commitment to driving the green transformation of air logistics,” says John Pearson, CEO of DHL Express. “As a long-term partner in SHEIN’s global logistics network, we are pleased to work together to explore how sustainable aviation fuel can be incorporated into their air cargo operations.”

"Partnerships with logistics providers such as DHL Express are an important way for companies like SHEIN to explore how emerging solutions such as sustainable aviation fuel can be incorporated into global logistics networks,” says Mustan Lalani, Head of Sustainability at SHEIN. “Through initiatives like this, we aim to better understand how SAF-related solutions operate in practice while supporting broader industry efforts to expand their availability over time.”

DHL Express launched its GoGreen Plus service in 2023, becoming the first global logistics provider to offer international shipping services that enable customers to reduce Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions through an "insetting" approach by opting for sustainable aviation fuel. Made from renewable feedstocks, such as used cooking oil and other residues, SAF can cut lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions by around 80 percent compared to conventional jet fuel. In 2025, sustainable aviation fuel presents about 10% of overall fuel consumption in DHL’s dedicated air fleet , one of the highest rate among global airlines and a nearly tripled compared to 2024 (3.5%).

The use of sustainable air fuel is also a key part of DHL Group’s focus on New Energy as a key growth sector. The use of alternative fuels will enhance our understanding of the sector's logistics needs. As part of Strategy 2030: Accelerating Sustainable Growth, DHL is developing end-to-end logistics solutions for eight segments: wind, solar, EV and batteries, battery and energy storage system, EV charging, grid, alternative fuel and hydrogen.

DHL NOW & NEXT in Shanghai is DHL’s flagship global logistics summit where industry leaders and supply chain experts gathered to discuss developments in global trade, supply chain resilience, and logistics innovation. This year’s edition highlighted DHL’s role in enabling global growth opportunities connecting China to the world, as China remains one of DHL’s most important strategic markets. At the summit, DHL showcased its global logistics capabilities, deep local market expertise, and sector-specific best practices for companies striving towards a more global footprint.
