Surcharges

Allow us to inform you that, in addition to the ongoing shortage of transport capacity and drivers, significant fluctuations are appearing on the oil market as a result of the current geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which are already affecting fuel prices in the Czech Republic. This dramatic, unavoidable and unpredictable development of diesel prices – as a key cost component of road transport – is beyond our control.

For this reason, and in order to minimize losses on both sides and ensure the continuation of our mutual cooperation, we are introducing a temporary “Crisis Fuel Surcharge” (KPP) on top of the agreed rates.

This surcharge will be applied with effect from 9 March 2026 to the existing rates for all domestic and international road transport products.

Crisis Fuel Surcharge for domestic products: 9.-16.3.2026 = 5,53 %

Crisis Fuel Surcharge for international products 9.-16.3.2026 = 9,50 %

The amount of the surcharge for domestic shipments is determined as follows:

• According to the index of diesel price developments at Czech fuel stations published daily at www.kurzy.cz.
• For the calculation of the surcharge, the share of the cost item “fuel – diesel” in the transport price (30%) is taken into account.
• The surcharge is announced once a week, always on Monday, based on the diesel price value from the preceding day.
• The announced surcharge is valid from Tuesday until Monday of the following week.
• The basic reference value for the index calculation is the diesel price as of 28 February 2026, i.e. 33.10 CZK/litre.

Example:

Tuesday, 10 March 2026, the value for the surcharge calculation from 9 March 2026, i.e. 39.20 CZK / 33.10 CZK * 30.0% = 5,53%. The KPP of 5,53% is valid until Monday, 16 March 2026.

The surcharge amount for international transport products is determined as follows:

• The surcharge is set with regard to the published EU Oil Bulletin statistics.
• The surcharge amount is determined as a weighted average of the individual countries.

DHL Freight reserves the right to adjust the surcharge value in the event of further unpredictable developments.

The introduction of this measure does not affect the standard fuel surcharge announced on a monthly basis.
