European Air Transport Leipzig GmbH (EAT) officially started operations at Leipzig/Halle Airport in spring 2008 as an aircraft maintenance operation and as a registered cargo airline. EAT is a 100% subsidiary of DHL Group and is part of the division DHL Express. Together with the British DHL Air UK Ltd., EAT covers most of the European DHL network.

European Air Transport Leipzig was founded in 2005 as a maintenance organization and commenced its airline operations in 2010. Its hangar, 232m long, 96m wide and 30m tall, is used for aircraft maintenance and stands proudly alongside EAT‘s office building.

Approximately 5,700 people work at the biggest European DHL hub in Leipzig. From here, destinations all over the world are serviced either with the DHL owned fleet or with charter flights. The fleet consists of the types A300-600, A330-200 und Boeing 757. This makes EAT Germany’s largest cargo airline.
