Shaping the future
For seven weeks, a group of junior employees from the DHL Hub Leipzig had to test, test, test. A total of 24 trainees and dual students took part in a voluntary learning project in cooperation with the start-up TrustBox.
In April of this year, an exciting new learning project for the LEJ Hub junior staff was launched under the dedicated support of the training team around Britta Böhme-Hrushchak and Sebastian Sieg. The aim was to train the participants in the areas of diversity, equality, inclusion and the use of digital media. The focus was on testing a new type of AI tool: the TrustBox.
What is the TrustBox?
The TrustBox is an AI-based chatbot that acts as a source of information and virtual advisor. She provides support above all in topics such as diversity, conflict management and appreciative communication in everyday business life. Its goal is to encourage reflection and empower people in challenging situations. In the past, the start-up was supported by R42 – a partner of the LEJ Hub.
To support the TrustBox development team, the DHL junior staff tested the tool intensively and gave their feedback on a weekly basis. This will now be used to further optimize the TrustBox and bring it to market as quickly as possible.

Complementary learning program
In addition to the test phase, weekly workshops enriched the learning project. Here, the participants dealt with topics such as AI communication, conflict management and project development. The workshops were led by the founders of TrustBox, project managers from R42 and DHL colleagues from the HR Digitalization team and junior employees.
The learning project culminated in a joint excursion to the newly opened R42 building in Leipzig. There, the most important findings from the test phase were presented. The trainees and dual students were thus able to experience first-hand how their support contributes to the further development of the AI tool.
"The TrustBox test phase was a unique opportunity for our junior staff to work on a real project, think outside the box and explore topics such as communication, conflict management, diversity, AI and gamification. I am convinced that our project group was able to make valuable contributions to the further development of the TrustBox and I am looking forward to the insights into the world of R42 and TrustBox - gaming included," says Sebastian Sieg.

The connection to R42
The DHL Hub Leipzig has been an official partner of R42 since 2021. The R42 is a games accelerator in the heart of the city of Leipzig. The company has set itself the task of supporting young entrepreneurs in the gaming and media industry from the Central German region. Experienced coaches and mentors are on hand to provide founders with advice and support - be it on questions about financing or target group-oriented game design. Valuable contacts are also established with practice partners - the LEJ Hub is one of them.
