In China, customers can get an instant DHL Express shipping quote via the 5iDHL website, the DHL Express Club WeChat mini-program, the DHL customer service hotline (95380 in Mainland China), or a nearby DHL service point.
In China, the account opening process is the same for all businesses, regardless of payment method. The standard process is as follows:
- Register and provide basic information – Click "Open a Business Account" and submit your contact details and shipping needs.
- Get contacted by a DHL representative – A logistics expert will reach out within 24 hours.
- Prepare and upload documents – Submit the required documents as instructed, or with assistance from customer support.
- Account activation – After document approval and agreement signing, your account will be activated within approximately 1–3 business days

Rates and Discounts
In mainland China, DHL business account customers enjoy tiered volume-based discounts. New account holders receive a 40% discount (60% of list price), with rates dropping to as low as 70% off list price (30% of list price) for shipments exceeding 20KG.
Only businesses can pay for their DHL Express shipments through invoice-based billing. To do so, they must open a DHL Express Business Shipping Account. As part of the application process, a DHL Express representative will review the company’s shipping volume, business details, and credit history to determine eligibility.
Once approved, the business can consolidate multiple shipments into a single invoice and pay at a later date, supporting more efficient fast delivery operations.

Pickup and Drop-off
You or a representative must be present when the courier arrives to collect the parcel you are sending. For security reasons, we’re unable to collect parcels that are left in 'safe places'. If you have arranged for a parcel to be collected from your office and you leave the parcel at reception, you must ensure that someone is there to hand it over to the DHL Express courier.
You can drop off your DHL Express shipment at a local DHL Express ServicePoint or authorized partner location. To find one, go to the DHL Express ServicePoint Locator and follow these steps:
- Select your service type (Send, Collect, or Send & Collect)
- Choose a payment method (e.g., pay at the ServicePoint or use a prepaid label)
- Select a handling option (print at location, use a QR code, or bring a label)
- Enter your ZIP code to view available drop-off points, hours, and services

Actual transit times for DHL Express international shipping may vary depending on the parcel’s size and contents, the specific origin and destination locations, and public holidays.

Packing your parcels with the right materials and care helps ensure they arrive safely and intact. To protect your shipment, you should:
- Assess what you’re trying to send – consider the weight, cost, regulations and fragility of the contents
- Choose your packaging based on its material, strength and size
- Pack your goods correctly, leaving no empty space in the box, placing items in the center of the box and wrapping items individually
- Seal your parcel correctly using the right tape and ensuring all the seams are sealed
- Display your labels clearly and include a spare label inside the package
