Strike in the Italian Railway System Causing Delays to International Transport

A nationwide railway strike taking place in Italy on 27–28 February 2026 will cause significant disruptions to train traffic and may delay DHL Freight’s transport operations in the region.
The strike begins on 27 February at 21:00 and ends on 28 February at 21:00. During this period, extensive service interruptions and multiple train cancellations are expected across the Italian railway system. The disruptions will particularly affect the operations of the following terminals:
- Verona Q.E.
- Smistamento Milano
- Messina
- Segrate
The strike may also cause delays to international transports routed through the affected area. Delays may occur even after the strike has ended, as rail traffic and terminal operations gradually return to normal capacity.
