  • After the award of the degree in Business Administration in Wiesbaden, Germany, Alexander started his career in 1996 in San Sebastian, Spain. As International Manager of the family-owned parcel service company Guipuzcoana S.L., it was his responsibility to connect Guipuzcoana to a European parcel network alliance what he accomplished in April 1998 by joining the Eurodis group. As Quality Manager of Eurodis Alexander contributed to the harmonization with DHL's Europack network.

    In November 1999 Alexander joined DHL Worldwide Express Germany in Frankfurt and, since then, held various sales and customer management positions with DHL before he assumed in 2009 the role as VP German Automotive with DHL CSI. In July 2016 he moved to the Technology sector and assumed the regional responsibility for EMEA which he held until June 2019. Since July 2019 Alexander is leading the global team as Sector President for Technology.

  • With almost 20 years as a Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Pekka has accrued deep expertise in the telecommunications, technology, energy, machinery, and finance sectors, all of which are central to the transition into the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

    Pekka was appointed as Nokia’s CEO on August 1, 2020. He has put in place a new operating model for the company and positioned Nokia as a trusted partner for critical networks around the world. These critical networks are advanced systems of hardware and software that run mission-critical services for companies and societies. They are central to Pekka's passionately held belief that technology and connectivity can and should help industries and societies improve productivity and sustainability as well as create new opportunities. He previously worked for Nokia between 1990 and 2000, when he helped oversee the company’s emergence as the world’s biggest mobile phone manufacturer and a significant player in mobile infrastructure.

    Pekka started his Nokia career as an account manager, responsible for the launch of the world’s first GSM network. He led the company’s expansion into new territories and became known as a dynamic and visionary leader who knew how to adapt businesses to prepare for and capitalize on, coming trends.

    In 2000 he moved from Nokia into venture capital with Startupfactory, followed by the consumer goods company Hackman, where he first became a CEO. He then led Konecranes for 10 years, before in 2015 moving to Fortum, an international energy company. Pekka’s broad experience, which includes working in Silicon Valley and Asia, has given him insight into technologies that will be at the heart of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. These include 5G, artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality, private networks, the Industrial Internet of Things, and cloud computing.

    Originally from Espoo, Finland, Pekka earned a master’s degree in information systems from Aalto University’s Department of Technical Physics (formerly Helsinki University of Technology). He holds advisory or oversight roles at the Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development, the Climate Leadership Council, and the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, among others.

  • Dr. Thomas Kaufmann studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Stuttgart and was awarded a Doctor's degree in Engineering in 2002 by the University of Stuttgart, Germany.

    From 1995 to 2002, Dr. Kaufmann worked at the Fraunhofer Institut Manufacturing Engineering and Automation in Stuttgart and then served as Chief Information Officer at Communicant Semiconductor Technologies AG.

    In 2004, Dr Kaufmann joined Infineon Technologies AG as head of the Automation & Advanced Process Control Centre of Competence. In that position, he moved to Singapore to supervise the automation built-up for the new factories in Malaysia and China. From 2006 onwards, he was appointed Vice President and head of Factory Integration, responsible for supply chain integration, production IT, and automation of Infineon’s production network.

    Since 2014, he was head of Operations at Infineon’s Automotive Division. In October 2019 he was appointed to the Automotive Division Board as Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer. Dr Kaufmann is a board member of the German federal Industrie 4.0 platform.

  • Markus Reckling has worked for DHL Group for more than 20 years in Germany and abroad. His prior positions included among others Head of Corporate Development, where he was responsible for developing Strategy 2015 and directly reported to our Group CEO, as well as Managing Director of DHL Express Turkey.

    As Managing Director of DHL Express Germany Markus is responsible for the German business of the world's leading express service provider for international time-critical shipments with a focus on customer service, quality, and employee motivation. Experienced in leadership as well as in finding individual solutions for different tasks Markus enjoys sharing and discuss his learnings. Combining his logistics experience with his retail knowledge - he previously worked for Otto group and other German retailers - he is a big promoter of eCommerce.

  • Born in the UK, and now residing in Germany, Mark has more than 27 years of global logistics experience, including roles in operations, network management, business development, account management, leadership, and has been with the DHL Group since 1996.  Mark has been with DHL CSI since it was founded in 2003, and currently holds the position of, Vice President Technology Sector EMEA.

     

  • Rory P. O’Connor is Vice President of the Global Supply Chain organization and Director of Global Logistics at Intel Corporation. Based in Ireland, he leads the organization that manages shipping and delivery to Intel’s global factory network and worldwide customers. Intel manufacturing facilities rely on the logistics team’s ability to move products and equipment as quickly as possible, regardless of conditions. Intel customers depend on this same expeditious shipping and delivery, even despite such unpredictable events as volcanoes, labor strikes, or epidemics. O’Connor works across Intel and the logistics industry, including global third-party logistics companies, freight forwarders, and integrators, to devise strategies and deliver world-class logistics solutions that provide excellent service for Intel customers and help the company grow.

    A 30-year veteran of Intel, O’Connor joined Intel Ireland Ltd. in 1990. During his first 10 years with the company, he held various positions across supply planning, customer service, and logistics to support Intel Ireland systems manufacturing. He was subsequently named European logistics director in Intel’s customer planning and logistics organization. In that role, O’Connor managed the distribution of capital equipment, raw materials, and finished product across Europe, the Middle East, and the Africa region. In 2010, his sphere of responsibility grew to include logistics throughout the Americas region as well. He has served as director of global logistics for Intel since 2015.

    Before joining Intel, O’Connor held various roles across manufacturing operations and materials planning at Northern Telecom Ltd. O’Connor earned a diploma in management and an MBA degree, both from the Open University business school in the United Kingdom.

  • Stephen J. Noonan is the Global Logistics Capabilities Director at Intel Corporation. based in Ireland.  He leads a Global Logistics Capabilities team that is responsible for maximizing supply chain excellence and enabling Intel growth through logistics solutions across Engineering, Digitisation, Supply Chain Design, and Business Transformation.

    Stephen started his career as an Engineer at Intel and has held various leadership roles across the globe. He has spent 25 years in Supply Chain and has extensive expertise in Forward and Reverse Logistics including, Distribution, Outsourcing, Supplier Management, Customer Relationship Management, and Technology adoption.

  • Angelos Orfanos is the Senior Vice President for the Technology Sector in the Americas region for the DHL Customer Solutions & Innovation division of the DHL group.  In his current role, he is responsible to drive the growth and development of the Technology industry and oversees the execution of sector strategy and solutions in addition to his commercial duties.

    Prior to his current role, he served as Executive Vice President for Global Sales and Marketing in DHL Global Forwarding where he was responsible for the global sales organization, marketing, bid management, business development, and sales operations teams. Orfanos also served as President and Global Head of Life Sciences and Healthcare, DHL Customer Solutions & Innovation.

    He has led numerous initiatives to expand service capabilities and create a leadership position for DHL in the Forwarding business and in the Life Science Industry. During his tenure at DHL, he also served in a dual role as Sr. Vice President for Sales and Marketing of LifeConEx, a joint venture company with Lufthansa Cargo, where he was a founding member. He is a member of Customer Solutions & Innovation Americas Senior Management Team and the DHL Top Executive Management.  Before joining the DHL group in 2001, Orfanos held various senior sales and commercial development roles in the Steamship Line industry and Logistics Software startup.

    He was born and migrated from Greece to the USA where he now resides. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, USA.

  • Craig started his career in Logistics in 1981 in Sydney Australia in the forwarding Industry, completing an Advanced Certificate in Business Management in Sydney Australia in 1996. In 1999 Craig joined Exel as Business Development Manager South Pacific and today continues his career with DHL in his current role as Senior Vice President Technology Sector and Regional Head Asia Pacific DHL Customer Solutions and Innovation. 

    In the 40 years working in the Logistics Industry, 14 of these based in London and Singapore, mostly in commercial roles, Craig believes in developing and maintaining long term business partnerships with colleagues and customers by being trustworthy, open and transparent, and bringing the right team of people together to offer mutually beneficial sustainable solutions for our customers and DHL.
