DHL Group Recognised as a Great Place to Work® in Australia
Press Release: Sydney, September 4, 2025
DHL Group, the world’s leading logistics provider, is proud to announce its certification as a Great Place to Work®, ranking top five among the Best Workplaces™ in Australia.
This recognition follows a comprehensive benchmarking process in which 6,000 employees across all international business units—DHL Express, DHL Supply Chain, DHL Global Forwarding, and DHL eCommerce—were surveyed and assessed against thousands of employees across industries in Australia regarding their workplace experience, trust in leadership, company culture, and performance.
This year, 81 per cent of DHL employees reported that they consider DHL a Great Place to Work®, 20 per cent higher than the average of 60 per cent reported by typical Australian companies. This marks a positive trend, reflecting a 5 per cent increase in employee satisfaction compared to the previous year.
DHL Group’s business unit leaders in Australia—Denise McGrouther, Managing Director of DHL eCommerce; Phil Corcoran, Managing Director of DHL Express; George Lawson, Managing Director of DHL Global Forwarding; and Steve Thompsett, CEO of DHL Supply Chain—expressed their delight with the results and reiterated continued enthusiasm and commitment to participating in the survey.
Denise McGrouther emphasised the impact of a people-first workplace culture on productivity, “DHL’s positive workplace culture fosters employee satisfaction and drives productivity, which translates into our ability to deliver customer excellence. By prioritising employee well-being, we empower our teams to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.”
Phil Corcoran noted the significance of this recognition, “Our people are at the heart of everything we do, so it’s fantastic to be recognised by Great Place to Work®! By focusing on our employees’ growth and well-being, we not only boost their skills and development but also improve our service for our customers. We’re really proud to be creating work environments where everyone can thrive.”
Recognising the importance of leadership in shaping the work environment, George Lawson stated, “Developing the effectiveness of our leaders at DHL is key to creating a Great Place to Work®. It’s our leaders who shape our culture, build employee engagement, and drive business success.”
Steve Thompsett, emphasised safety's role in achieving this recognition, “One of the foremost reasons DHL is considered a Great Place to Work® is our unwavering commitment to safety. This year, we’ve elevated our priority for the physical and mental well-being of our workforce by enriching our safety education through our 2X30 strategy.” He added, “Our leadership team plays an important role in leading with a focus on a balance of respect and results, with the engagement of our teams being a top priority. DHL’s employees are its greatest strength, and to be acknowledged by them once again is a testament to our commitment to cultivating a workplace culture where every team member feels safe, valued, and empowered to grow.”
DHL’s commitment to a positive workplace environment is demonstrated through various global initiatives, including a strong focus on safety highlighted by World Safety Day, which educates employees on safety and mental health. The company also offers a world-class training programme to expand employee skills. It provides staff engagement and community involvement opportunities, such as volunteering initiatives and social event celebrations, fostering camaraderie and purpose. Additionally, DHL implements employee recognition programmes that acknowledge outstanding contributions, reinforcing a culture of appreciation and motivation.
Through these efforts, DHL is dedicated to maintaining its status as a Great Place to Work® while continuously improving the employee experience at all levels of the organisation.
Starting in 2026, the logistics company will no longer be evaluated by individual business units globally but will be certified as DHL. As part of the company's commitment to becoming an Employer of Choice, DHL Group emphasises creating a safe and positive work environment, competitive benefits, and fostering employee development and inclusion. Dr. Thomas Ogilvie, Chief Human Resources Officer of DHL Group, stated, “We want to be a great company to work for all. Participating in the Great Place to Work® survey provides us with detailed insights about our strengths and our areas of improvement, also by comparing our results with those of other leading companies. This recognition is important for employer branding and significantly contributes to our perception as an attractive employer.”
