Surcharge Policies
DHL eCommerce utilizes an indexed fuel surcharge that is adjusted monthly, based upon the fuel prices published monthly by the U.S. Department of Energy. We also assess a peak surcharge for packages sent during specified peak timeframes. Surcharges may differ by product. Please see additional details below for specifics on both of these surcharges.
Fuel Surcharge
Changes to the surcharge will continue to be effective the first day of each month. Historic fuel surcharge amounts are shown for the three months prior.
| Effective Dates | Fuel Surcharge Amount |
| December 1–31, 2025 | $0.07 USD per pound |
| November 1–30, 2025 | $0.08 USD per pound |
| October 1–31, 2025 | $0.08 USD per pound |
| September 1–30, 2025 | $0.08 USD per pound |
These terms apply to:
- DHL Parcel International Direct Standard/Priority/Max (Canada to United States)
The fuel surcharge calculation is linked to the monthly rounded average of the national U.S. On-Highway average price for a gallon of diesel fuel as published by the U.S. Department of Energy. DHL eCommerce applies the monthly rounded average from the period two months prior to calculate the applicable fuel surcharge percentage. For instance, the January 2024 fuel surcharge would be based on the U.S. On-Highway monthly rounded average from November 2023.
