With the government's decision to limit public gatherings of more than 500 people due to Covid-19, SDHL has decided that the final matches are played in front of empty stands. The decision is valid from Friday 13 March until otherwise decided by the government. We therefore unfortunately need to inform you that the tickets provided via DHL cannot therefore be used.

For the 2019/2020 season we became the main sponsor of the SDHL - The Swedish Women's Hockey League. With the sponsorship, 3 sek for each sold shipment on goes directly to the league.

"We want to help make Swedish sport a little more equal," says Jonas Lindell, CEO of DHL E-commerce Solutions.

The sponsorship includes several parts:

  • Three kroners for each package sold goes directly to the league.
  • DHL appoints monthly "Delivery of the month", a prize to the player who has provided the best-looking assist.
  • DHL is behind the award for the winner of the assist league and a scholarship.
  • DHL becomes the official logistics partner, which means that the hockey league is offered di's full logistics services.
  • DHL will also look at other ways to help SDHL grow, such as by jointly reviewing the possibility of developing a ticketing system and a fan shop.

Angelica Lindeberg, commercial manager at SDHL, is very pleased with the collaboration.

"Having a main sponsor for the first time who really invests in women's hockey means a lot. The value of this sponsorship is very great for us, and DHL has shown from the first meeting that they really believe in women's hockey and genuinely want to help us grow," says Angelica Lindeberg.

DHL chooses its sponsorship carefully. In Sweden, DHL collaborates with the men's AllSvenskan in football, Vasaloppet and SOS Barnbyar and on the global stage including Formula 1, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, the Rugby World Cup and the rock band Rolling Stones.

"We are very proud to be able to add SDHL to that list, and not least because we believe that we can contribute to making Swedish sport a little more equal," Jonas Lindell says.

DHL started e-commerce in 2007 and is now the second largest in the market. Through the site, private individuals can send packages up to 20 kilos within Sweden and the EU.

That DHL chooses to invest a little extra on the assist league is completely in line with the internal mantra "When the most important need to arrive".

"The assist league took a swath of us right away. To achieve success, you have to work together, and without effective and opening performances there will be no goals either. It's just like in the logistics world, if we're not good all over the track, we can't deliver. In addition, we like to highlight those who may not get the headlines normally, says Jonas Lindell.
