DHL Global Forwarding utilizes an indexed fuel surcharge in shipping that is adjusted monthly, based upon the fuel prices published monthly by the U.S. Department of Energy. We also assess security surcharges based on the current global environment.

Domestic Fuel Surcharges Air and Ground Freight

US Domestic Ground Services utilizes an indexed fuel surcharge that is adjusted weekly each Tuesday based on Monday's rate published by the US Department of Energy.
US Domestic Air Fuel remains at $0.48/chargeable pound, effective August 1, 2022

International Security Surcharges
Security will be implemented on all international air export cargo. Note that due to the volatility of the market, these rates are subject to change.

Domestic Security Surcharges
Due to the significant increase in security-related costs post 911, DHL Global Forwarding implemented a Domestic Security Surcharge in shipping on the chargeable weight for certain expedited domestic shipments. The Domestic Security Surcharge will not apply on our RoadMaster® deferred service shipments.
