As the official logistics partner of both Abbey Road Studios and Coldplay, we recently hosted an exclusive customer event at the iconic Studio 2, where attendees were offered the unique opportunity to walk the front steps once taken by world-famous musicians, connect with like-minded entrepreneurs, and record a Coldplay song alongside a professional vocalist and production crew.
This event was in celebration of Coldplay’s final leg to London for the ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour’. Our DHL mascot, CARGO, joined them as a special guest on the famous Abbey Road crossing, before heading over to Wembley Stadium to meet and greet with fans! You can watch the outcome of the day in the video below.
Built on a shared passion of delivering the future today, our partnership with Abbey Road Studios is centred on enabling emerging artists to increase their reach worldwide and delivering unforgettable music experiences.
Abbey Road Studios relies on DHL's expert support with their vinyl mastering process: "The delivery of lacquer masters that hold the recordings need to be transported to a vinyl plant, and DHL is pivotal in ensuring this happens on time, every time."
Working together for a more sustainable world tour
Coldplay's ambitious goal for their Music Of The Spheres World Tour was to reduce their direct carbon emissions by at least 50% compared to their previous tour. To help achieve this, they sought the expertise of the world's leading logistics provider, DHL. DHL has supported the sustainable journey with Coldplay for 3 years, delivering across 225 nights, 80 cities and 43 countries. As Official Logistics Partner to the Coldplay tour, we’re helping to minimise carbon emissions to make Coldplay’s world tour as sustainable as possible. Working together, this has been made possible by recycling reusable wristbands and using renewable fuels to deliver a more sustainable World Tour.
We're pleased to announce that we've exceeded our targets in collaboration with Coldplay and their other partners. The first two years of this tour have seen a 59% reduction in direct CO2e emissions compared to their 2016-17 stadium tour on a show-by-show comparison.
DHL's GoGreen Plus service
We’re extremely passionate about sustainability at DHL. Not only are we fervent about driving sustainability within the logistics industry, but we’re also working hard to help our customers improve their credentials too. DHL's GoGreen Plus service allows customers the ability to reduce their scope 3 emissions. Through the purchase of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), DHL will reduce (inset) CO2 emissions from air transport, which is a more sustainable alternative than traditional jet fuel. You can find out more on how your business could also reduce your carbon emissions with DHL below.
