DHL Express tracking keeps you informed as your shipment moves throughout our network, 24 hours a day – 7 days a week. Whether it is being picked-up by a courier, departing a facility, is in customs or en route to its final delivery, our online shipment tracking system keeps you up-to-speed, every step of the way. From the moment we take possession of the shipment until the final proof of delivery, you’ll be able to see how DHL Express is working for you.
Track your DHL Express shipment in seconds! Here's how the online courier tracking service works:
The shipment number is allocated to your parcel and is typically 10 numerical digits. If you have not been provided with this information, the sender of the parcel will be able to give these details.
On the morning of the delivery, a 1 hour delivery window will be provided. Where the sender of your parcel has provided your mobile number or email address, we will send you a notification.
You can view the delivery window by going to our track a parcel page and entering your shipment number and delivery postcode.
If your parcel has been sent on a service that requires a signature at the specified delivery address and there is no-one at home, the driver will leave a calling card. Where the sender of your parcel has provided your mobile number or email address, we will send you a notification confirming this.
The card and notification will direct you to an online link where using the track a parcel function will give you one or more of the following options:
On the day of delivery, you can select to receive a 'You're next' notification when the driver is one stop away, typically 5-15 minutes before the delivery.
A shipper's reference is a unique identifier, like a purchase order number or customer ID, that you can assign to your shipment. This lets you easily track and categorize your shipments, especially when multiple packages are in transit.
You can track your DHL Express shipments using a personalized shipper’s reference. Adding this shipper’s reference on your waybill allows DHL account holders to differentiate shipments on their monthly invoice.
When using a shipper’s reference, sometimes it can be helpful to narrow the results by using an account number and/or shipment destination country. To track with a shipper‘s reference, you will need the following information:
- Shipper’s reference noted on the waybill
- Date range when the shipment may have been sent
DHL ProView® is our online tracking service for DHL Express account holders that provides automatic notifications to you and anyone you specify – via email or text message – when shipments are picked up, delivered, and more. DHL ProView also lets you monitor shipments online by account number, status and more.

You can view a delivery signature by clicking “Get Proof of Delivery” while reviewing individual shipment tracking results online. Or, you can submit up to 25 waybills at once for proofs of delivery.
