Data is stored for as long as it is needed. The need to store data is due to statutory periods. If the law does not specify the retention period, the data is stored for the purpose of order fulfillment and invoicing and as proof of the proper performance of the contract, until the expiry of the periods of liability, and are subsequently deleted.

DHL’s data privacy policy regulates group-wide data processing standards and focuses specifically on so-called transfers to third countries, which mean transfers to countries outside the EU where there is no adequate level of data protection law. DHL Privacy Policy (Summary)

DHL ensures the privacy of visitors to the company's website. When you visit our websites, the servers always store for connection and configuration and security purposes temporarily the data of the computer connecting to our website, the list of websites visited on the website, the date and duration of the visit, the IP address of the device, the identification data of the browser and operating system used, as well as information about the website through which you connected to our website. Additional personal data such as name, address, telephone number or e-mail address are not collected unless provided voluntarily, e.g. when filling out an online contact form, as part of a registration, survey, competition, contract fulfillment or request information.

The legal basis for the processing of these categories of data is Article 6(1)(f) of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In view of the above objectives, in particular in view of the need to guarantee the security and smooth establishment of the connection, we have a legitimate interest in the processing of this data.

When you turn on location in your browser, according to your operating system, we'll use that data to offer location-based services (e.g., we'll provide the location of the nearest branch, packing facility, etc.). Due to contracts and in order to provide services and obligations, we also need personal data related to contracts concluded with you. This data is used, as the case may be, to perform a contract (shipment), manage customer data, handle payments, or assess creditworthiness. Certain shipment data shall also be transmitted to the authorities of the country of transit or destination for customs and tax or security checks, in accordance with the laws of that country. The information provided usually includes: the name and address of the freight forwarder, the name and address of the consignee, a description of the goods, the number of pieces, the weight and value of the shipment.

The legal basis in this case is usually Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR, since the processing is for the performance of a contract to which you are a party.

If you are already a DHL customer your address details (e.g. name, address) will be processed in order to contact you and provide you with the latest information regarding offers, properties, products and services. Regardless of your consent, we process your e-mail addresses solely to provide you with information about DHL's own products and related products

The legal basis for the aforementioned data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 point f GDPR. The processing of customer data for its own direct marketing purposes shall be deemed to have been carried out in a legitimate interest.

By registering for one of our newsletters, we are authorized to use your e-mail address to send you information. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by clicking on the corresponding link at the bottom of the newsletter.

In case of objection or unsubscribe from the newsletter, the data will be blocked, deleted accordingly and will no longer be processed for the purposes of the newsletter.

DHL does not share, sell, transfer or otherwise share personal information with third parties and will not do so in the future, unless required to do so by law, is required for contractual purposes unless you expressly consent. For example, if you order products, you may need to provide addresses and orders to our contractors. Third-party service providers who process data on our behalf are contractually obliged to maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. In this case, DHL remains responsible for the protection of your data. Service providers follow DHL's instructions, and security is guaranteed by technical and organizational measures, as well as checks and verifications.

We use tracking software to see how many users visit our site and how often they do so. We do not use this software to collect individual personal data or individual IP addresses. This data is used for statistical purposes and to improve the website only in an anonymous and abbreviated form.

"Cookies" are small files that allow us to store information related to your device as well as to you, especially when you visit one of our websites. Cookies help us determine how often we visit our websites and the number of visitors. They help us set up offers to make them as helpful and effective as possible.

Pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR, we use "session cookies" in order to optimise the website and to guarantee its convenient and user browse seamlessly. Cookies are stored only for the duration of your visit to websites and are automatically deleted when you close your browser.

1) Eloqua tracking cookie. The content of this persistent cookie is limited to the identification number and the cookie itself is used in the same way as all other persistent cookies.
