Business as Usual Amid USA Customs Changes

In light of recent changes to customs regulations in the United States, DHL Express reassures customers that it is "business as usual" for their international shipments. While alterations to customs and regulatory frameworks can pose challenges for businesses, DHL Express remains committed to ensuring seamless movement of shipments across borders.

The recent adjustments in the USA, including revised customs tariff levels and the elimination of the previous $800 de minimis threshold, have led some international mail services to temporarily halt shipments to the United States. However, DHL Express continues to navigate these changes effectively, thanks to its extensive experience and operational capabilities in over 220 countries and territories worldwide.

"DHL Express is well-versed in adapting to various regulatory environments," said Mike Farrell, Managing Director of DHL Express Ireland. "The most significant regulatory shift for Irish businesses in recent years was Brexit, and our transition support was seamless. Our priority now is to help our customers understand and adapt to the current changes in the USA.

To facilitate this process, DHL Express has been actively hosting webinars and providing resources to address customs inquiries, ensuring that customers are well-equipped to navigate these new regulations.

The message to Irish businesses engaged in trade with the USA is clear: despite the recent customs changes, the vital trade lane remains open, and DHL Express is dedicated to supporting its customers through this transition. DHL Express also encourages any new business or SME engaging in trade with the USA to contact us directly for tailored guidance and support.
