Velo Coffee Roasters has been named the winner of the 2024 DHL SME Competition, which took place yesterday at Thomond Park, the legendary home of Munster Rugby. The event provided an exceptional platform for local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to showcase their achievements and network with industry leaders.
The DHL SME Competition, hosted by DHL Express Ireland, brought together five finalists from across the country for an unforgettable day at Thomond Park. The finalists had the opportunity to meet Munster Rugby players, take a tour of the world-class stadium, and gain valuable visibility for their businesses.
As part of DHL Express Ireland’s continued support for Irish SMEs, the competition aimed to launch one deserving company into the global market. This event, held on November 20, 2024, underscored the company’s dedication to helping SMEs expand internationally.
In partnership with Munster Rugby, DHL Express Ireland offered an impressive prize package worth over €30,000 to the competition winner. This package included significant shipping credits, exclusive hospitality experiences, and impactful advertising opportunities, all designed to help the winning business extend its global reach.
The competition attracted five outstanding businesses, selected from hundreds of entries. The selection process was highly competitive, beginning with case study submissions to showcase why each business should be chosen. Shortlisted companies then delivered an online video pitch, followed by an in-person pitch at Thomond Park in front of a distinguished panel of judges.
The finalists—Velo Coffee, HTS Labs, Swag Hut, JRC, and Doug's World—impressed the judges with their creativity, ambition, and business acumen. After an exciting day of pitches, Velo Coffee emerged as the winner, claiming the €30,000 prize package.
While there could only be one winner, DHL Express Ireland also acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the runners-up, providing valuable support packages to assist in their ongoing growth.
