Yes. No charges or registration fees apply when you register a DHL business account.

DHL Express offers only one type of account for SSM registered businesses.

Every DHL business account comes with 2 distinct account numbers – the export account number and the import account number.

  1. The export account number is used for all kind of export activity and optionally for domestic shipments. (e.g 199567890)
  2. The import account number is used for request of receiving shipments from overseas into Malaysia or through third-party arrangements. (e.g 956789012)

You can open a DHL account easily in 3 steps:

 

  1. Submit an account registration request.
  2. Provide supporting documents. (e.g certificate of incorporation)

  3. Complete the process by acknowledging and giving consent to DHL terms and conditions.

 

The account will be opened in 2 days.

A DHL account number typically consists of 9 digits. 

DHL account numbers can start with different digits depending on the type of account:

  • If it's an export account, it starts with 19. (e.g 199567890)

  • For import account, it begins with 95 or 96. (e.g 956789012)

It typically takes 3 days to get a DHL business account.

After submitting the DHL account registration request, a DHL officer will contact you within a day to verify the information and guide you on the document submission for account opening. 

Once you have submitted all required documents, your account should be ready for use within 2 days.

Requirements for DHL Business Account

To open a DHL business account, your company must meet these two main requirements:

  • You should have an SSM registration number.

  • You should have a regular volume of international shipments.

To open a DHL account, you will need documents that verify your business’s registration. Follow the guidelines below based on the type of your business:

  • Form E, if your company has changed name.

  • Utility bill, if your current address differs from the SSM registered address.

Berhad (Bhd.)

  • Local SSM document

Activate a DHL Business Account

We will send you a business proposal to activate your DHL account on your provided email.

Once you sign and return the proposal to us, your account will be activated within 1 to 2 working days.

Navigate a DHL Business Account

To find your DHL account number, follow these 4 steps:

Step 1: Log in to MyDHL+

Visit the MyDHL+ website and sign in to your account.

Step 2: Access My Shipment Settings

Click “My Shipment Settings” and then select "My DHL accounts".

Step 3: Add or Manage Your Account

  • If you haven't added your account number yet, select "Add Existing DHL Account" and fill in the required information, including your account number.

  • If you've already added, you can manage your account number from this section.

Step 4: Check Your Account Details

Your DHL account number should be visible in your account details, usually in a 9-digit format.

If you encounter any difficulties finding your account number or require assistance with managing your DHL account, feel free to contact our customer support for help.

To add a user to your DHL account, follow these simple 2 steps:

Step 1: Access Your Account Settings

  • Log in to your MyDHL+ account.

  • Click "My Shipment Settings" and then choose "My DHL accounts".

Step 2: Add a New Account:

  • If you are adding a new user, select "Add Existing DHL Account".

  • Enter the Account Number and specify the account type (Shipper or Payer Account).

    • Select “Shipper Account” for your own account number. 

    • Select “Payer Account” for a foreign account.

  • Provide a nickname for the account, choose an icon as directed, and click "Add Account".

You can reset your DHL account password in 3 steps: 

Step 1: Enter your email address as username

Step 2: Select "I forgot my password"

Step 3: Check your mailbox for the temporary password from DHL.

Step 4: Log in using the temporary password and reset your password.

Close DHL Account

If your account has not been used for shipping for over a year, it will be temporarily suspended for security reasons. 

To reactivate your account, you will need to contact DHL billing team. 

To prevent this suspension, make shipments at least once a month, to keep your account active.

If your account remains inactive for over a year, we will suspend it for security reasons. To reactivate your account, please reach out to our billing team.

If your DHL account is restricted, it may be because you have outstanding payments. This means that if you have any unpaid invoices or overdue balances, DHL may restrict your account until the payment is made.

To close your DHL account, follow these 4 steps:

Step 1: Contact your Account Manager

Reach out to your account manager via phone or email. 

Step 2: Request closure

Inform your account manager of your decision to close the account and provide any necessary information to verify your identity.

Step 3: Settle outstanding balances

Make sure that all outstanding invoices and balances are paid off before the account can be closed.

Step 4: Confirm Closure

DHL will process your request and confirm once the account has been successfully closed.

If you need to reopen a previously closed DHL account, follow these 3 steps:

Step 1: Contact your Account Manager

Reach out to your previous account manager.

If you don’t have their contact details, you can contact our customer service. 

Step 2: Provide account information

Give details related to the closed account, such as your account number, business information, and the reason for reopening it.

Step 3: Wait for review and approval

DHL will assess your request. If any unresolved issues lead to the closure, you have to resolve them first.

If your request is approved, DHL will either reactivate your old account or help you set up a new one, depending on the situation.

DHL Account Billing

The payment term for corporate account holders is 14 days.

DHL will issue invoices to customers every week, showing the amount due.

Customers are required to pay the invoiced amount by the due date specified on the invoice.

The invoice will show the amount you need to pay DHL by the Due Date mentioned on the invoice.
