DHL Express, the world’s leading international express provider, has announced that it will open a new purpose-built Service Centre on the Gold Coast, within the key industrial area of Molendinar. Expected to be fully operational in the second half of 2018, the Service Centre will have a particular focus on small and medium-sized enterprises between the Gold Coast and the mid-north coast of New South Wales.
Upon completion, the 3,000 square metre state-of-the-art centre will feature nine on-grade roller doors to the warehouse area and two crossovers which allow separate areas for customer access and truck deliveries. The new centre will also be fitted with parcel lockers which are accessible 24/7 for customers to pick up their shipments anytime, at their convenience.
Gary Edstein, CEO and Senior Vice President of DHL Express Oceania, said: “Our Gold Coast Service Centre’s prime location in the industrial zone will allow us to continue providing the best service for our customers, who can then further grow their businesses. At DHL Express, we pride ourselves on continually connecting people, improving lives and stimulating the growth of the local economy, and this service centre is a testament to all of that. These are certainly exciting times for our Gold Coast operations and we are delighted that the project is well on track.”
YCL Jewels, an international jewellery brand specialising in timeless, high quality jewellery at affordable price points, is an example of a DHL customer which has been successfully growing their overseas customer base to more than 90 international markets via the DHL Express network since 2017.
Fabienne Costa, CEO and Creative Director of YCL Jewels, stated: “In the past three years, we have built a loyal following for the brand in the U.S, Europe and Asia, and our business has further grown since we started offering timely express delivery through DHL Express last year. We are confident that by working alongside a trusted brand like DHL Express, we will continue to grow exponentially in these markets, bringing more of our offerings to consumers around the world.”
Construction has already commenced on the Service Centre, with the new freestanding building located on Anisar Court, between Jade Drive and Harper Street, just off Ashmore Road.
Josh Wright, Associate Director at Cushman & Wakefield, said: “Location was paramount to DHL, and after an in-depth analysis with the team to understand their needs and end-user delivery destinations, it is evident that Molendinar was the most beneficial distribution point for their business.”
