- DHL becomes the first carrier to offer customers the option to receive international orders through in country out-of-home locations
- The new partnership supports consumer demand for cost-effective, sustainable and convenient delivery options
DHL eCommerce UK has today announced its new partnership with retail technology company, HubBox, to make it easy for retailers to offer out-of-home deliveries and enhance the shopper experience with international orders.
The partnership will enable retailers to seamlessly integrate HubBox’s award-winning pickup at checkout software, allowing consumers to choose from thousands of DHL Parcel Pickup points across the UK and Europe. This solution enables retailers to widen their delivery offering, simply and cost-effectively.
According to DHL’s Global Online Shopper Trends Report, consumer behaviour is strongly convenience-led. Speed, reliability and sustainability are essential factors a shopper considers when evaluating their delivery options. Out-of-home locations offer a more sustainable, convenient, and cost-effective alternative to home delivery. By consolidating deliveries to one central location, they reduce the number of individual trips required, lowering carbon emissions and easing last-mile congestion. They also provide greater flexibility for consumers, allowing them to collect parcels at their convenience rather than being tied to home delivery windows.
The report also found that many shoppers are abandoning their baskets due to limited delivery options. Offering the largest global network of out-of-home locations, DHL will become the first carrier to give consumers the option to receive international deliveries at one of nearly 150,000 local Parcel pickup points within its cross-border network. Having a range of convenient delivery options is essential for retailers to grow cross-border sales.
Stuart Hill, CEO, DHL eCommerce UK, says: “It’s so important that retailers are able to respond to what consumers are looking for when it comes to delivery and right now, convenience is the thing that matters most to shoppers. This partnership allows retailers to offer even more convenient delivery options through a really simple plug-and-play solution.”
Sam Jarvis, CEO at HubBox, says: “We’re delighted to partner with DHL to help more top retailers offer pickup at checkout – something 70% of shoppers now want to see. It’s an exciting time of growth across Europe for HubBox, and this partnership supports our mission to equip retailers everywhere with best-in-class pickup technology that drives convenience, efficiency and sustainability.”
