Government to cut energy bills for 10,000 manufacturing firms in 2027

Due to launch next year, the Government’s British Industrial Competitiveness Scheme will now help cut electricity costs for 10,000 manufacturers, up from 7,000. This initiative will focus on high growth industries, including automotive and aerospace among others. Chancellor Rachel Reeves said: “This announcement will cut energy bills for over 10,000 manufacturers, helping businesses to compete, win and create good jobs across the country, and to deliver our modern industrial strategy."
