Over the past year, UK Export Finance (UKEF) has provided £14.5 billion in loans, guarantees, and insurance, supporting thousands of jobs in key sectors such as clean energy and manufacturing. As a result, in 2024 UKEF helped 667 UK businesses break into international markets, 496 of which were SMEs, contributing up to £5.4 billion to the economy. Marco Forgione, Director General at Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade, said: “Finance is often the missing piece in the jigsaw when looking to new markets. Access to the right tools at the right time can turn local ambition into international growth.”
