We strive to deliver every parcel safely and on time - however occasionally road closures due to planned events or unexpected incidents, weather conditions or system outages may affect or otherwise disrupt delivery services.

Whenever we're aware of a potential interruption to our deliveries, we'll post an update here with as much detail as possible, so you can be well-informed on the arrival of your parcel.

August 2026

Due to road closures and increased traffic associated with the Fleadh Belfast 2026 event, deliveries in Belfast may experience delays this week. Our teams are working hard to minimise any disruption and deliver parcels as quickly as possible.

June 2026

The Met Office has issued Amber and Red weather warnings for extreme heat across large parts of the UK from 22 to 25 June 2026.

These conditions may impact transport and infrastructure, including road and rail networks, and could lead to some disruption to parcel collections and deliveries nationwide.

DHL eCommerce UK is implementing enhanced operational measures to maintain service continuity while prioritising the safety and wellbeing of colleagues and delivery partners. These measures include closer monitoring of delivery routes, flexible resourcing, and additional welfare support for drivers.

While we are taking all reasonable steps to minimise disruption and maintain service levels, some delays may be unavoidable due to the wider impact of extreme weather conditions.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide further updates where necessary.
We are currently experiencing disruption to services in parts of Northern Ireland, including Belfast and surrounding areas.

This disruption is impacting the movement of shipments and may result in delays to collections and deliveries across the region. Local transport services have also been affected, contributing to reduced accessibility in certain locations.

Our operations teams are closely monitoring the situation and working to minimise any impact where it is safe and possible to do so. Contingency measures are being implemented; however, some delays may continue in the short term.

May 2026

We’d like to provide a quick update on service in Birmingham today.

A number of road closures are currently in place following Aston Villa’s Europa League win parade. The team returned to the city early this morning (around 6am), and the parade began at approximately 10am. Disruptions are expected to continue throughout the day, with closures planned until around 10pm.

Areas affected include:

Postcodes: B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6, B15, B18, B19
Key locations: Broad Street, Jewellery Quarter and Cemetery Park

Our drivers will continue to deliver wherever access is possible; however, some deliveries in these areas may be delayed or may not be completed today due to restricted access.

We’ll continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates as needed.

March 2026

We are monitoring traffic conditions across the M25 and the M5 this morning, as there are incidents which are likely to affect deliveries in London and the South West.

M25 clockwise at Junction 27: there is an ongoing road traffic collision impacting both the main carriageway and the entry slip from the M11 southbound.
Main Carriageway (J27–J28): 4 lanes are currently closed.
Entry Slip (J27 from M11 South): 2 lanes are closed as part of the same incident.
M5 Southbound Junctions 12-13: there is congestion caused by a vehicle fire with 3 lanes currently closed.

This disruption may affect delivery schedules within the surrounding area. We are actively managing operations and will provide further updates as information becomes available.
A closure on the M5 between Junctions 18 (Avonmouth) and 19 (Portbury) on Tuesday 17 March has caused significant disruption across the region. The Incident, which required emergency services to close both carriageways, has created severe congestion on key routes surrounding Bristol.

Widespread disruption was experienced overnight due to prolonged periods of heavy snow, sleet and intense rainfall across the UK. In addition, adverse weather conditions in the Midlands led to delays in trunking movements and restricted access to our sites, which in turn has affected parcel processing and will have a knock-on impact on today’s delivery schedules.

The Amber Weather Warning has also caused delays across Scotland, Wales and the Southwest.

We planned for this event in advance and made several operational adjustments to support continuity of service; however, adverse road conditions mean that delays are unavoidable today. Our teams are continuing to adapt routes, deploy additional resources and closely monitor local conditions to minimise disruption wherever possible.

The Met Office have warned of a cold weather snap that will result in Snow & Icy conditions in Scotland with the turn of the New Year.

They have advised of travel delays, with some rural communities being cut off, while general roads and pathways could be impassable.

We expect isolated disruption on Friday 2^ndwhich coincides with Scotland’s Hogmanay Bank Holiday. Deliveries and Collections will be subject to local weather impact.

Meanwhile, our EuroCentral & Dundee Depots are planned to be gritted to counter the temperature drop.
Our service levels remain strong across most of the network, as we move into the final week before Christmas. A few locations are facing delays, and we’re focused on resolving these quickly.

We would like to provide an update regarding services into Ireland following further information received from our Irish partners overnight.

Due to Storm Bram, which brought an Amber Weather Warning across large parts of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, Ireland has experienced extreme weather conditions including gale-force winds and prolonged heavy rainfall. As a result, multiple ferry sailings from Holyhead have been cancelled, significantly impacting linehaul movements into Ireland.

Based on the latest information, customers should now expect delays of at least 48 hours across Ireland services while networks recover and backlogs are cleared once routes reopen.
As the busy festive period, we remain committed to delivering a reliable service you can count on. While the majority of deliveries remain unaffected, a few areas are experiencing isolated delays.

The Met Office has declared three days of weather warnings, starting in the South West of England but moving North over the next couple of days. An amber warning has also been issued in North West Scotland tomorrow.

There are also 12 flood warnings in place, where flooding is expected, and 62 flood alerts, where flooding is possible, across the impacted regions.

As a result, there is potential for impact to delivery services across the highlighted regions as heavy rainfall will likely affect transport routes.

We’re actively managing these situations to minimise any impact and will keep your customers informed every step of the way.

In addition, four of our sites — Runcorn, York, Glasgow and Newcastle — are currently closed for customer collections. We’ll update our website as soon as these sites reopen and collections can resume.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning across the weekend and into early this week for heavy rainfall across the Midlands, South Wales and the south of England.

As a result, there is potential for disruption across many regions including Cardiff, Birmingham, London, Maidstone and Southampton.

In addition, there are currently 3 flood alerts in place along the River Derwent.

We'll monitor the situation and share any impact as we are made aware.

A technical issue with BT has arisen this morning. BT have identified the cause, and a fix is in place, but we’re seeing some delays as a result of the outage.

Snow and ice are affecting deliveries in several areas in Scotland and the North East, with the area around Aberdeen the worst affected.

Some ferry crossings to Northern Ireland have also been cancelled due to weather disruption.

July 2025

Incident update following a fire in the offices at our Manchester site in the early hours of this morning:

First and foremost, we can confirm that all our colleagues were evacuated and are safe. We are working with the fire service to review the situation.

Access to the warehouse is currently restricted, but no parcels have been damaged.

A business continuity plan has been activated to enable as many deliveries as possible to continue. Any booked collections will go ahead as planned and are not affected.
