SERVICE UPDATES FROM DHL ECOMMERCE UK

We strive to deliver every parcel safely and on time - however occasionally road closures due to planned events or unexpected incidents, weather conditions or system outages may affect or otherwise disrupt delivery services.

Whenever we're aware of a potential interruption to our deliveries, we'll post an update here with as much detail as possible, so you can be well-informed on the arrival of your parcel.

November 2025

  • A technical issue with BT has arisen this morning.  BT have identified the cause, and a fix is in place, but we’re seeing some delays as a result of the outage.

    In addition to this, we’re still experiencing isolated delays of up to 24–48 hours in the postcode areas listed below.

    This list has been updated to reflect the most recent isolations as of today:

    • South West - EX, PL, TQ, TA, CF, NP
    • South East - NR, PE
    • Midlands - DN, LN, NG
    • North West - CH, WA, WN, L,
    • North East - DH, NE, SR
    • Scotland - G, ML, PA, KA

    Our frontline colleagues continue to work hard to minimise any disruption, and we’ll keep customers up to date with their deliveries.

  • As we continue to navigate the peak Christmas trading period, the majority of our deliveries remain unaffected.

  • We continue our efforts to deliver any parcels delayed by the recent snow and ice across Wales, Scotland and the North East.  Areas that continue to be affected include:

    • YO62

  • Snow and ice continue to impact deliveries in Scotland and the North East. As well as the areas outlined yesterday, the postcodes listed below are also affected:

    • Most HU postcodes
    • LS22
    • NE46-49
    • Swansea
    • TD14-15
    • TS12-13
    • YO11-16
    • YO21

    We’ll continue in our efforts to deliver any delayed parcels as the weather improves and thank you for your understanding in the meantime.

  • Snow and ice are affecting deliveries in several areas in Scotland and the North East, with the area around Aberdeen the worst affected.

    Some ferry crossings to Northern Ireland have also been cancelled due to weather disruption.

    Affected postcodes are listed below:

    • AB36 & AB37
    • IV13, IV21-26 and IV54
    • IV2 6 and IV3 8 
    • PH20-26 (Speyside)
    • KW1-14 (icy roads and heavy snow)
    • NE46, NE47, NE47, NE49 are the worst affected areas for Newcastle

    All efforts will be made to deliver any delayed parcels as the weather improves.

July 2025

  • Incident update following a fire in the offices at our Manchester site in the early hours of this morning:

    First and foremost, we can confirm that all our colleagues were evacuated and are safe. We are working with the fire service to review the situation.

    Access to the warehouse is currently restricted, but no parcels have been damaged.

    A business continuity plan has been activated to enable as many deliveries as possible to continue. Any booked collections will go ahead as planned and are not affected.

January 2025

  • Due to the red weather warning issued ahead of Storm Éowyn, parcels for delivery in Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man will incur a 24hr delay. Our teams are working to minimise any disruption and will transit parcels as soon as it's safe to do so.
