DHL On Demand Delivery (ODD) gives shipment recipients a choice to decide when, where, and how their shipments should be delivered, so there will be no failed delivery attempts or misplaced deliveries, which are common causes of frustrations for both recipients and senders.
ODD is accessible via the DHL Express Mobile app that is available on Android and iOS, but you, as a recipient, can also access the ODD website via your web browsers from desktop or mobile. When the service becomes available in the shipping process, you will receive an SMS alert and an email notification with a link to the website, from which you can choose the delivery option and make requests that suit your convenience most.
Delivery Options

ServicePoint or Locker
Collect your shipment from a DHL ServicePoint, Service Centre, Locker, or` sales partner. You will be shown a location map for places you can self-collect, and all you need to do is choose one that is the most convenient for you.

Leave in Safe Place
If you would like to have a contactless delivery, you can authorise us to leave your shipment without a signature at a specific place (within your original delivery address) and date, e.g., "leave at the back door", "do not expose to weather".
Choosing this option will require you to call our Customer Service to verbally clarify and agree on the arrangement.
NOTE: Signature Release - Shipments require a signature at delivery unless you have specifically selected the Signature Release option via ODD.

Change delivery date
Choose a different delivery date from a 7-day range following the earliest delivery window (which is your default delivery date).

Alternate address
Change your delivery location by giving us a different address within the same country.

Leave with a neighbour, concierge, or guard
Nominate a neighbour or another authorised party to receive the shipment on your behalf when you are not at home or live in a guarded community. You can provide up to 2 neighbours' names and addresses.
Choosing this option will require you to call our Customer Service to verbally clarify and agree on the arrangement.

Vacation hold
Postpone delivery for up to 30 calendar days without extra storage charge. This option is ideal if your parcel is ready to be delivered when you are away for some time.
Do note that some options may not be available due to operational reasons, the shipper’s request, or when charges are owed. You can make up to 3 requests for a single shipment.

- We notify you by SMS and/or email
- You click the ODD link in the notification, which will direct you to the website
- You choose your delivery option and make the request for change
- We confirm your request by SMS and/or email notification
- We execute your request
- You receive the shipment the way you specified!
Didn't get an ODD message?
If you are expecting a parcel but did not receive an ODD message via e-mail or SMS, don’t worry. In some cases, the automatic message may fail to generate meaning that you did not get a link to access ODD.
You can either visit https://ondemand.dhl.com, select the destination country (the country where the shipment is to be delivered) and key in your 10-digit AWB number to access the ODD feature. Alternatively, you can contact our 24/7 customer service via live chat and inform them which ODD service you would like to engage.

1. Free-of-charge when you use DHL Express
Having the flexibility to receive your shipments at your own comfort is our way of putting more attention to your overall experience. You can arrange to receive your shipment at a more convenient time, so you needn’t worry about the hassle of waiting or rushing just to get your parcel.
2. Beneficial for your business
If you are a shipper sending your products to your customers around the world, ODD is applicable as well. You can send your parcels knowing your recipients can make flexible arrangements to receive their shipments. Speak to your account manager and inform them that you would like your end receivers to have access to ODD and they will on-board your account accordingly.
3. Improving our last-mile deliveries
ODD plays an important part in our last-mile delivery operations. While we have many DHL Express vans collecting and delivering shipments daily, ODD helps our couriers plan their load and route, therefore maintaining or even improving our delivery speed and avoiding failed deliveries.
Other notes
- If you have submitted two or more ODD requests, our operations team will only take the latest request and void the previous entry.
- You may be contacted by our operations team if your ODD message is unclear.
- DHL Express does not use automated voice messages for ODD or any other form of notification. Please be wary and vigilant of non-authenticated sources claiming to be DHL Express.
