Shipping a package abroad - DHL prices

In a matter such as shipping a package abroad, DHL's price list presents favorable terms. However, for those who are interested in a parcel abroad, the cost of the service can vary. It is due to both the size of the package and the country to which the shipment is sent. For example, for an XS package shipped to Austria, you will pay 57.99 PLN, and for a XXL package to Bulgaria PLN 199. These are examples of the minimum and maximum fee for an international shipment in DHL, which did not include paid additional services.

Types and sizes of international shipments

Outside of Poland, you can send one-piece shipments with maximum dimensions of 120 x 60 x 60 cm.

Parcels abroad - additional services

As a shipper on DHL PackagKING in the price of your package you receive the services you need for a safe and comfortable international shipment:

  • Insurance up to the value of PLN 6,500.
  • Information about the current status of the shipment on dhlparcel.co.uk.
  • E-mail notifications about the passage of the package through the border and its delivery.

You can also take advantage of paid additional services, such as:

  • DHL eCommerce courier pick-up.
  • Insurance up to PLN 50,000 (when shipped in DHL POP up to a maximum of PLN 6,500).
  • Probation and reimbursement (to selected countries).
  • Non-standard shipment (for example, with a round shape).

What regulations apply to parcels to the UK?

For shipments to the UK, customs clearance is required. Using DHL's ParcelKING service, you can quickly and easily go through this process when filling out your shipment details. We have included the cost of export customs clearance in the basic fee for a package worth up to €1,000. When making a check-in you additionally provide the following data, i.e.:

  • The purpose of the shipment (for example, sale, gift, documents or return).
  • The currency in which the value of the package is given (possible options: PLN, GBP, USD, EUR, CHF).
  • The value of each item in a pre-selected currency.
  • The name of each commodity in English.
  • Number of items.
  • Weight in kg of each individual item.
  • The weight of the entire shipment including packaging.
  • Country of origin of goods (optional).
  • Tariff code (optional).

If you are shipping as a company, you may also need:

  • For shipments under £135, be sure to provide your UK VAT Registration Number - your UK tax identification number (the equivalent of Poland's NIP).

Additional information on shipments to the UK

In the case of a parcel shipped by DHL POP or courier, you need to enter the shipment data on PaczKING.co.uk. At the end of the process, shipping and customs documents (CN23 declaration and proforma invoice) will be generated, which should be printed and attached to the shipment in 2 copies.

Your shipment to the UK sent on paczKING.co.uk will undergo simplified customs clearance  - so you will not receive an export confirmation entitling you to apply 0% export VAT rate.

For shipments over £135, the recipient of your shipment must pay VAT, customs duty (if charged) and import clearance fees. For more information,  click here.

International delivery time

How long does a package go from Poland to Austria, the Czech Republic or Spain? Depending on the country to which the DHL shipment is sent, the average delivery time is between 2 and 12 business days. You will find the expected average delivery time for each country here. You can use the dhlparcel.co.uk website to monitor the transportation of your package on a regular basis. We will also notify you by email when the package is delivered.
