Friday, November 27, 2026. Cyber Monday is the following Monday, November 30.
Black Friday 2026, the American one, falls on November 27, and Cyber Monday on November 30. If you are buying from Brazil, your final price depends on three answers: whether the site is certified under Remessa Conforme (Brazil's cross-border e-commerce compliance program), whether the value with shipping goes over US$50, and what the ICMS, the state sales tax, is where you live: 17% to 20%.
The discount on the storefront is only the first half of the math. The second half shows up at checkout or, worse, when the parcel arrives and sits waiting for taxes to be paid. You can know the total before you click buy, and that is what separates a good purchase from a December surprise.
Black Friday is always the Friday after Thanksgiving in the United States. In 2026, the holiday falls on Thursday, November 26, and Black Friday on Friday, November 27. Cyber Monday, dedicated to online deals, comes on Monday, November 30.
In practice, the deals don't wait for Friday. The whole of November has become a season, with three dates that concentrate offers from foreign stores:
Date in 2026 | Event | Where most of the offers come from |
November 11 (Wednesday) | Singles' Day, or 11.11 | China |
November 27 (Friday) | Black Friday | The United States and stores worldwide |
November 30 (Monday) | Cyber Monday | The United States, with a focus on electronics |
This calendar matters because of delivery times. If you buy on the 27th, you are competing for space with the highest volume of the year: DHL Express recorded around 20% more international shipments between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday in 2025. Source: DHL Group, December 2025.
An individual who buys from a site certified under Remessa Conforme pays zero Import Tax up to US$50. Above that, the rate is 60%, with a fixed deduction of US$30 from the tax. ICMS, at 17% to 20% depending on the state, applies at any value. Source: Receita Federal (Brazil's federal tax authority), rules in force since May 12, 2026, consulted in October 2026.
The US$50 limit is based on the customs value, which adds up product, shipping and insurance. A US$45 item with US$8 in shipping comes to US$53 and falls outside the zero bracket.
Situation | Import Tax | ICMS | When you pay |
Individual, certified site, up to US$50 | 0% | 17% to 20% | At checkout |
Individual, certified site, from US$50.01 to US$3,000 | 60%, minus US$30 | 17% to 20% | At checkout |
Individual, site outside the program | 60%, no deduction | 17% to 20% | After arrival, before delivery |
Company (CNPJ, the company tax ID), on any site | 60%, no deduction | 17% to 20% | After arrival, before delivery |
The full rule, including the law that changed the US$50 bracket in 2026, is on the Receita Federal page about the Remessa Conforme program (in Portuguese).
It is, as long as you do the math with the tax included. Here is an example using the method Receita Federal applies in its own simulations, with ICMS at 17% calculated "por dentro", meaning the tax is part of its own base.
A US$200 product goes on sale at 30% off and costs US$140. Shipping is US$20, so the customs value is US$160.
The same purchase on a site outside the program pays US$96 in Import Tax and US$52.43 in ICMS. The total rises to US$308.43.
Two lessons come out of this example. The US$140 product costs almost double at your door, so the discount needs to be compared with the price of the same item in Brazil, everything included. And the certified site makes a real difference: in the case above, US$36 less.
Look at the checkout, not the ad. For Receita Federal, the tax is only paid when it appears itemized at checkout. Three checks settle it:
If the site does not charge the taxes at checkout, the parcel will be taxed on arrival, without the benefit of the program. Source: Receita Federal, October 2026.
It is not worth the risk. Receita Federal taxes what is physically in each package and can fine you for an inaccurate declaration. Law No. 15,502, of September 2026, made the artificial splitting of shipments an explicit target of monitoring by platforms and carriers.
Another shortcut that does not exist: declaring the parcel as a gift. The exemption for shipments between individuals was revoked on August 1, 2024. The import tax exemption guide gathers what the law really does exempt.
It depends on four stages: the store picking the order, international transport, clearance at Brazilian customs and final delivery. The last week of November alone carries the highest volume of the year, and no carrier controls how long customs takes.
What you control is the choice you make in the cart. When you buy from a certified site, the documents and the taxes reach Receita Federal before the parcel does, and the shipment gets priority in clearance.
When you buy outside the program and the parcel comes by courier, the company files the declaration and, after release, you have up to 20 days to pay the taxes on the carrier's website. Delivery only happens after that confirmation. Source: Receita Federal, October 2026.
If the purchase is a Christmas gift, buying on 11.11 or in the first half of November gives you a margin that Friday the 27th does not.
Use the tracking number the store sends you and always check it on the carrier's official website. The guide to tracking an international parcel explains each status, from departure to release.
Deal season is also scam season. Receita Federal does not send payment slips, does not call and does not email you to collect tax on a parcel. A message with a payment link, a deadline of a few hours and a threat of return is the classic script of the import fee scam.
When in doubt, don't click. Type the carrier's address into your browser and look up the shipment with the tracking code.
Friday, November 27, 2026. Cyber Monday is the following Monday, November 30.
It pays ICMS, at 17% to 20% depending on the state. Import Tax is zero for individuals on a site certified under Remessa Conforme, as long as product, shipping and insurance add up to no more than US$50.
It does. The tax applies to the customs value, which adds up product, shipping and insurance, according to Receita Federal.
No. The Remessa Conforme benefit is exclusive to individuals. A company purchase pays 60% Import Tax plus ICMS, collected on arrival.
Be suspicious. Receita Federal does not collect tax by message, and taxes on an express shipment are paid on the carrier's official website, starting from the tracking code.
With the tracking code in hand, you can follow every stage, from departure to delivery, and see on the official channel whether there is any tax to pay.
Track your shipment and follow your purchase on its way to you.
