DHL Express serves more than 220 countries and territories, which includes China, Japan, South Korea, India, Singapore and the Middle East. The availability of each service depends on origin and destination.
Shipping from Brazil to Asia works like any international express shipment: you choose the service, describe the contents and value, attach a commercial invoice when the parcel is not a document and follow the tracking until delivery. DHL Express serves more than 220 countries and territories, including China, Japan, South Korea, India and Singapore.
The distance puts people off when they want to send a gift to Tokyo or a first sample to a client in Shanghai. In practice, only three things change compared with a closer destination: the price zone, the service you pick and the care you take with the paperwork. A DHL store in Brazil can sort all three at the counter.
DHL Express delivers to practically all of Asia, from the Far East to the Middle East. DHL Express Worldwide covers more than 220 countries and territories, and each destination sits in a rate zone that sets the base price band of the shipment. The table lists some of the most requested Asian destinations and their zone in the 2026 rate guide.
Destination | DHL Express rate zone 2026 |
China | 5 |
Hong Kong | 5 |
Japan | 5 |
South Korea | 5 |
Singapore | 5 |
Taiwan | 5 |
Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia | 5 |
India and Vietnam | 6 |
United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Israel | 6 |
The zone is only the starting point. Two parcels of the same weight going to China and Japan start from the same price band, because both destinations are in zone 5.
For most shipments, DHL Express Worldwide does the job: delivery by the end of the next possible business day at destination, with pieces of up to 70 kg and shipments of up to 3,000 kg. When the delivery time matters, there are time definite options that reach fewer destinations, according to the DHL Express Service and Rate Guide 2026 for Brazil.
Service | Delivery | Coverage | Money back guarantee |
DHL Express Worldwide | by end of the next possible business day | more than 220 countries and territories | no |
DHL Express 12:00 | before 12:00 on the next possible business day | 147 countries and territories | yes |
DHL Express 9:00 | before 9:00 on the next possible business day | 85 countries and territories | yes |
The "next possible business day" depends on the route, and routes to Asia are long. Before you promise a date to the recipient, ask for a quote with the estimated transit time for the exact address. If the delivery hour is critical, ask the store which time definite options reach the destination city.
The price of a DHL Express international shipment adds up three parts: the base price, set by weight, zone and service speed, the optional services you choose and any surcharges that apply. That is the formula published in the DHL Express Service and Rate Guide 2026.
The weight you pay for is not always what the scale shows. DHL also calculates volumetric weight: length times width times height, in centimeters, divided by 5,000, for each piece. A large, light box can cost more than its real weight suggests. DHL may reweigh and remeasure any piece.
At a DHL store, the team weighs, measures and shows the total price before you confirm. If you would rather know before leaving home, ask the store for a quote over WhatsApp.
Every DHL Express shipment travels with a waybill, the shipping document with a unique tracking number. If the contents are not documents, a commercial invoice is mandatory, and customs at destination use it to decide whether duties or taxes apply. The invoice depends on the type of shipment:
Our guide to the commercial invoice walks through each field.
The value of the shipment sets how it leaves Brazil. Under the rule published on MyDHL+, courier (simplified) clearance applies to shipments with a customs value of up to US$ 1,000, usually small parcels with no commercial purpose, such as books, samples and finished products. Above US$ 1,000, formal export is mandatory, with a DU-E (Declaração Única de Exportação, Brazil's single export declaration). Source: MyDHL+ Brazil, Service Types, September 2026.
For courier export, you need the waybill with the exporter's CPF or CNPJ (Brazil's individual and company tax IDs), the export invoice (nota fiscal) or the substitute declaration for those exempt from issuing one, and the commercial or proforma invoice. The DHL store team prepares this paperwork with you.
Some items never travel with DHL Express to any destination, and others need prior approval, such as perfume and lithium batteries. The official list is on MyDHL+, and our guide to sending gifts, samples and products sums up what needs care before you pack.
On top of DHL's rules, each Asian country has its own import requirements. Describe the contents precisely and declare the real value: that is what keeps a parcel from being held at customs at destination.
Japan has its own rules on documents, limits and restricted items, and Discover has a dedicated guide for it. If your parcel is headed there, read shipping from Brazil to Japan before you seal the box.

A valuable parcel deserves extra protection. Shipment Value Protection costs US$ 16 or 1% of the protected value, whichever is higher, on international shipments. Source: MyDHL+ Brazil, Optional Services, September 2026. Our guide to shipment insurance in Brazil explains when it is worth it.
